Court Tennis Exhibition & Reception, Thursday July 14, 2011

You are cordially invited to an exhibition of Court (Real) Tennis and reception at the Boston Tennis and Racquet Club (939 Boylston St, Boston) on Thursday July 14th, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm.

The Cambridge University Real Tennis team is visiting the US and members will be playing during the evening. This presents a rare opportunity to see the game: “Real Tennis is the king of all racquet sports, a game where subtlety and thought are more prized than power and fitness.”  See for more on the origins and history of the game.

It is also an excellent opportunity to visit the Tennis & Racquet Club in its beautiful classical revival style building. Founded in 1902, it is Boston's oldest athletic and social club.

The reception will be held in the T & R Club’s Hamlen room, which  has a spectacular view over the court.  The ticket price of $25 includes light refreshments, and there will be a full cash bar. Club members will be on hand to help us understand the action on court.  Please be sure to reserve your places before Friday, July 8th.   You can either book on-line, or print the reservation form and mail it in with your check.
