Spring Dinner, Saturday March 27, 2010

Our annual SPRING DINNER was held on Saturday, March 27th, at Roxbury Latin School, 101 St. Theresa Avenue, West Roxbury, Mass., starting at 6:30p.m.

Our speaker, Alice Prochaska, is University Librarian at Yale and is Principal-elect of Somerville College, Oxford, of which she is an alumna. She was Director of Special Collections at the British Library from 1992 to 2001 and has published books and articles on a range of historical subjects including the history of trade unions in Britain, and sources for modern British, American and Irish history, and on libraries and archives. Her current special interests are the stewardship of primary sources and international collections; the restitution of cultural materials, a topic she has faced in her administrative career; and questions related to global cultural heritage.  She will speak on “Reading and Identity”.
