Huntington Theatre Evening 2009

Friday, January 9th 2009

"Kate Burton is dazzling in Nicholas Martin's moving and inspired revival." - Variety

Join us to see this production of "The Corn is Green" by Emlyn Williams, starring Kate Burton. Idealistic and hardnosed schoolteacher Miss Moffat (played by Kate Burton) creates the first school in a Welsh coal-mining town, and helps an illiterate teenager (played by Ms. Burton's son Morgan Ritchie) transform from bully to brilliant student.

Nicholas Martin returns to direct this heartwarming classic with his quintessential warmth and humor. More information about the play, which moves to New York after its Boston engagement, may be found on the Huntington web-site.

The Society extends an invitation to its members and their guests, to a night at the Huntington on Friday, January 9th, 2009. The evening will begin with a wine and cheese reception from 7 -- 8 pm at the Black Box Theatre, 264 Huntington Avenue. After the performance the evening will continue with Post-performance dessert and port with the cast.
