Christmas Dinner 2007

Our annual CHRISTMAS DINNER was held on Saturday, 8th December, at Roxbury Latin School, 101 St. Theresa Avenue, West Roxbury, Mass., starting at 6:30p.m.  The Annual Meeting of Members and the Regular Meeting of Directors also took place at the dinner.

Our speaker was the distinguished historian, educator and writer, Jill Ker Conway (Darwin, Cambridge) currently a Professor in MIT’s program in Science, Technology and Society. She is a graduate of the University of Sidney in history and english, and earned her doctorate in history at Harvard in 1969.  She served as the first woman president of Smith College from 1975 to 1985.  The story of her early life is described in the best-selling memoir and later award-winning movie, The Road from Coorain, which was followed by True North, which covered her sojourn in Toronto and more recently, A Women’s Education, which continues with the Smith years. Ms. Conway holds thirty-eight honorary degrees from American, Canadian and Australian colleges and universities. Born in Hillston, NSW in the Australian outback, she now resides in Boston.
